1. The homepage for NIU provides excellence by sharing different events that are extremely beneficial for all the students. They also make the site very user-friendly, so it's really easy to navigate around and find what you are initially looking for. The site uses all of the school colors, to show that it is an official school website for the university. Just overall, it has a good appearance and kes the school seem professional.
2. So the consumer product I used to discuss is my tv manual. So first of all the manual had very little words and was covered with mostly pictures. So the company wants everyone to be able to set up their product without getting confused by any words. With using very little words and more pictures, they are showing that it's extremely easy and a kid can set it up as well. This manual also comes in both English and Spanish, so this company wants to broaden their consumers so, much more people can use their products. Overall, it seems like the purpose of this manual is just for people to see how quick and easy it is to set up their product so they can use it right away.
3. So I used the website Monster.com to look for jobs in my field. I'm studying computer science, so I looked for jobs that were related to computer engineering and technicians. Within the three ads, I viewed all of them had the address and the job title of what you are applying for. They also all had a brief paragraph on what the job is about and what some of the task you will have to perform if you do get the job. All three of them really had the same ideas, on how to act and certain knowledge you should know before applying for the job. That could be because it's technically the same position but just at different places and cities.
I like how your writing flows, Toby. However, you might hold off on beginning sentences with "So." It's very informal (though endearing), and clear, professional, technical writing is after accuracy and clarity that calls for a bit more distance. Also, be sure to spell check :)
