UI & Ux Challenge

Image
With the original layout of the restaurant, it was always very crowded and very outdated from the minute you step foot into the place. The front door is very hard to open/ close from years of not having it replaced. There are two different temperatures on both sides of the restaurant,  making it very uncomfortable and unusual if you decide to dine in. The whole color scheme of the restaurant doesn't match with what they are trying to portray or go with their menu. Overall, It needs some redesigning, to make the place much more enjoyable and friendly so more people would be welcome to join.  As well, they only have one bathroom for both customers and Los 3 burritos workers to be using at all times. So a suggestion would be to add a girls and boys bathroom for the place so it won't be as crowded. Along with keeping it clean at all times cause it does reflect if a customer would want to come back and eat there. I made a three 3d design for the new layout of the resta...

Procedural Rhetorics Project (How To Remove The Background From A Picture Using Photoshop)

Image
Step One:   Open up Photoshop on your computer and start a new project. Name the project whatever correlates to what you are doing. Click the file button on the top left of the screen, then press open to choose a picture from your computer that you want to edit. Make sure you choose a picture that’s easy enough to remove the background from.  Step Two:   Use the quick selection tool to select the image you want to keep. When using this tool you want to make sure that you are getting all around the edges so it looks nice and clean when you are done. Make sure the hardness is set to 0 Percent. So that you can get. The most accurate outline for your picture. Step Three:   Once you have selected your picture, click select subject so that it focuses only on the selection. When you do so, the background would fade so you can see your selection more clearly. On the right side of the computer, make sure the transparency tool is set to 100 so you get a blank ch...

Voting (Extra Credit)

Image
After class, I went over with my friends to the student center and we waited in line for more than two hours to get registered and vote. It was a great experience because I've never been able to vote before in my life so it was great to be a part of history for once.

Reframing Questions

1.              Describe how you understand the meaning of "Technical Communication." My personal understanding of technical communication is when you are able to communicate in a series of different documents and forms. It’s not just only communicating in person, but also taking it to a whole new level and expanding it from there. Some job field and titles that really use technical communications are engineers, developers & hardware etc. 2.              Explain how a notion of Technical Communication as "Storytelling" is helpful in generative effective documents, reports, and other forms of communication. A notion of Technical writing can be helpful as storytelling because it can tell people what you know or what you have been through. For example, a résumé would have all your accomplishments and it would give the employer a timeline of everythi...

Reflection: Campus Signage Project

This project really focuses on storytelling as a heuristic, by making us create a journal and write down the steps on how we created our brand new design for the poster. This project really made me focus on the small details of the posters, and even research what some of the topics meant because I didn’t know what half of them were actually about. The main reason why this assignment really showed “heuristic” story telling because, we had to choose a poster we saw around the school and jot down the stuff we liked and didn’t like. Throughout the whole process, I learned how to use different programs, and different creative ideas, so my redesign was more effective than the original. Overall, it was a learning experience throughout the whole thing, and made me learn a lot of new things when I was in process of making the new design.

Chapter 1,4 HW

Chapter 1 ( 1 & 2 ) 1.      Personally, I think it’s a very unethical thing to do, just because you will be hurting the job even more if they don’t know that you would be leaving in a few months. The only possible way to be ethical is to go for the job interview and probably suggest a seasonal position or a part-time position as they are still finding their permanent person. Other than that, if you know you won’t be staying full time, there’s no need wasting everyone’s time by getting a job you won’t keep. 2.      I think I would have to go with the bookstore head just because, they showed data in how well the study guides are doing in other bookstores. The other departments didn’t really provide anything else but condemn the idea, so I think it’s right to say that you should just go with the bookstore head and potentially make more of a profit. Chapter 4 (Analysis) 1.      The tone of the comments was ...

Extra Credit, Page 14

1) I believe the intended audience for this document, would generally have to be teenagers and young adults in America. I only say that just because the document shows you the risk of nonphysical activity if you don't exercise when you are an adult. They also state why you should invest in exercising and that it's really never too late. So maybe, this infographic can work for anyone who wants to do better for their health and live a longer life.  2) I think this document closely aligns with, changing the attitude of one's opinion on physical activity and making the reader change their ways so they can better themselves. I can tell just because they give you facts on what happens when you do exercise and when you don't. They also provide some of the risk and problems you may have if you don't maintain a healthy diet. So they want you to change and exercise more. 3)  The main problem this document is facing is the ris...
